The Machine Platform Planned for Afterwrk Venues
What the platform does, and — just as importantly — which details are not yet locked.
Short answer
A wall-mounted, self-service unit that verifies age at the point of sale, takes card payment, and reports its own inventory and faults back to us. The exact model is not locked yet, so this page describes capability rather than quoting numbers we cannot stand behind.
Capability
| Age verification | Identity and age are checked at the machine, at the point of sale, before anything dispenses. |
|---|---|
| Payment | Card payment taken at the machine. Cash handling is not part of the model. |
| Mounting | Wall-mounted, positioned where venue staff have line of sight. |
| Connectivity | Requires reliable Wi-Fi or Ethernet at the placement point. |
| Power | Requires a standard electrical outlet within reach of the placement point. |
| Inventory telemetry | Reports stock levels remotely, so restocking is scheduled against real depletion. |
| Service alerts | Reports faults remotely, so a problem is usually known before it is reported. |

These are deliberately absent rather than estimated. They will appear when the unit is fixed and measured:
- Exact width, depth, height and weight.
- Screen size and resolution.
- Capacity and SKU count.
- The specific ID-reading hardware and the verification method it uses.
- Certifications and electrical ratings.
What the room has to provide
- A wall position that is visible to staff or security.
- A standard electrical outlet within reach.
- Reliable Wi-Fi or Ethernet at that point.
- Clearance for a guest to stand and use it without blocking a walkway or an exit.

The assessment asks where a machine could sit, whether power reaches it and whether connectivity does.
