A bar with a 21+ door is the most straightforward fit there is — and the least work to host.
If nobody under 21 comes through the door at any hour, a bar is the simplest venue to place a machine in. It is self-service, it takes card at the unit, and it asks nothing of your staff.
Why a bar would want one
The nicotine sale is happening anyway — it is just happening at a shop down the road, and it takes your guest out of the room to do it. A machine keeps that trip inside the building, and turns a category you cannot sell into one you earn on.
What it asks of your staff
Effectively nothing. There is no stock to order, count or reconcile, no cash to handle, no product behind the bar, and no age decision for a bartender to make under pressure — verification happens at the machine. Your door policy stays the primary control, as it already is.
Placement
- A wall where staff or security have line of sight — not a corridor or a back hallway.
- Clear of the service queue, so it is not competing with people waiting to be served.
- A standard outlet within reach, and reliable Wi-Fi or Ethernet at that point.
- Enough clearance for a guest to stand without blocking a walkway or an exit.
The eligibility question that decides it
