A lounge is a fit if it is 21+ end to end. Most that fail, fail because they share a building with something that is not.
A lounge can host a machine if the room is closed to under-21s at all times. The usual problem is not the lounge itself but what it is attached to: a restaurant, a hotel lobby or a shared corridor.
Is it worth the wall?
A lounge sells atmosphere, so the real question is whether a machine spoils it. The unit is 23.6 inches wide, 40.5 inches high and stands 10.2 inches off the wall. It needs one standard outlet, and it has cellular built in, so it does not depend on your Wi-Fi. Placed in a transition space — a corridor, a vestibule, the restroom approach — it is out of the room's sightline and still in a staff member's.
Staff involvement
None. No stock, no cash, no age decision at the point of sale, and no product behind the bar. Service staff carry on doing what the room is paying them for.
What lounge owners worry about
“It will cheapen the room.”
That is why we agree the position in person rather than from a floor plan. If nowhere works, we will tell you, and that is the end of it.
Hotel and restaurant adjacency
If guests under 21 can walk through the space at any hour — to an elevator, a restroom or a breakfast service — it does not qualify. This is the most common reason a lounge fails. Check yours →
Common questions
Will it look out of place?
That is a fair concern, and it is why placement is agreed on site. If there is no position that suits the room, we will say so.
Our lounge is inside a hotel. Can we host one?
Only if nobody under 21 can enter or pass through the space at any hour. A lounge that opens onto a lobby, or serves breakfast, usually cannot meet that test.
What about cigar or hookah lounges?
They can sit under different tobacco rules depending on the state. We review those individually rather than assume either way.
