Nightclubs already card everyone at the door and already have a queue problem at the bar. A self-service machine removes one category from that queue entirely.
Throughput
At peak, every transaction at the bar competes with every other. A nicotine sale is a low-value, high-friction one to run through a bartender at 1am. Moving it to a machine takes it off the bar entirely, and the guest does not lose their place in a queue to make it.
Late-night demand and leaving the room
Demand for nicotine peaks late, which is exactly when a guest leaving to find some is least likely to come back through your door. Giving eligible guests an on-site option may reduce the need to leave. We will not tell you it demonstrably keeps guests longer — we have no data, and nor does anyone claiming it at you.
Crowd flow and placement
- Visible from the floor without being in the main circulation path.
- Away from the bar queue, so it relieves it rather than joining it.
- Lit enough to read the screen in a dark room.
- In sight of staff or security, which matters more in a busy venue than a quiet one.
- Reachable for restocking without crossing the dance floor mid-service.
Age-controlled entry
Clubs are usually the easiest venue type to evidence a 21+ policy for, because entry is already controlled and identification is already checked. The federal test remains whether anyone under 21 is permitted inside at any time — so daytime private hire is worth thinking about before you apply.
