Nicotine Vending Machine Age Verification
Verification at the machine is the second lock. The door policy is the first, and it is the one that decides eligibility.
A compliant nicotine vending machine verifies identity and age at the point of sale, every time, before anything dispenses. That verification is an additional control. It does not make a venue eligible where under-21 guests are permitted to enter, because the federal restriction is about the facility, not the sale.

The door
The venue's age policy determines whether the machine may be there at all. Federal rules restrict vending to facilities where under-21 individuals are not present or permitted at any time.
The machine
Verification at the point of sale confirms the individual buying is 21 or over. It runs on every transaction, not on a sample.
What verification at the machine is good at
- Removing the age decision from a bartender at 1am.
- Applying the same standard on a quiet Tuesday as on a busy Saturday.
- Producing a consistent record of the check having happened.
What it does not solve
- It does not make a mixed-age venue eligible.
- It does not remove the venue's obligation to control entry.
- It does not replace licensing or signage.
- It does not decide what may lawfully be sold in a given jurisdiction.
