How Nicotine Vending Revenue Share Works
The percentage is the headline. The definitions underneath it are what you are actually signing.
Short answer
A revenue share pays the venue an agreed percentage of sales through the machine. What matters as much as the percentage is what it is a percentage of, when it is paid, and what happens if the machine underperforms or the arrangement ends.
What to check in any revenue-share agreement
- Percentage of what? Gross sales, or net of card processing and tax? These are very different numbers.
- Payout timing. Monthly, and how long after period end?
- Reporting. Do you see per-transaction data, or a single figure you cannot check?
- Term and exit. How long are you committed, and what does removal cost?
- Minimums. Is there any floor, or is a slow machine simply a slow machine?
- Exclusivity. Does the agreement stop you doing anything else in the category?
What performance depends on
Footfall late in the night rather than early, placement visibility, product mix against the room, and how convenient the nearest alternative is. A machine in a back corridor of a busy club can easily do less than one in the sightline of a quiet bar.
